Founded in 1998, the Eurasia IFF is currently the only film festival of Kazakhstan accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
In 2012, the prestigious British publication International Film Guide included the Eurasia IFF in its list of 35 leading world film festivals.
Due to the high quality of its programs and adherence to world standards for competitive film festivals, the Eurasia IFF features not only its main jury but also juries from prestigious international organizations of film critics and scholars, including FIPRESCI and NETPAK.
Since its inception, the Eurasia IFF has been positioned as a unique cultural bridge between the East and West, uniting the cinema of Asia and Europe.
The key aim of the festival is to showcase and promote the achievements of the domestic film industry while fostering cooperation with the international film community.
The festival has been held in the capital of our country, Astana, four times – in 2008 and 2017-2019. The other 12 editions were held in Almaty.
