The Eurasia International Film Festival returns after a two-year break related to the pandemic! And he returns to Almaty, the city where he was founded in 1998 and where the vast majority of previous festivals took place. 

The main goals of the film forum are the development of Kazakh cinema as an art and industry, increasing the interest of the public in cinematography, strengthening international cooperation in the field of cinematography.

The 16th “Eurasia” International Film Festival will be held from December 12 to 18. The official opening and closing ceremonies will take place in one of the largest theaters in the entire Eurasian space – the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay. The film screenings will be held at the Kinopark 16 cinema in “Forum” MALL. 

The current festival includes two main competitive programs:

- international, in which feature films from Asian and European countries produced in 2021-2022 will compete without any thematic and genre restrictions;

- national – with domestic full-length feature films produced in 2021-2022 without thematic and genre restrictions.

The event will also be attended by the Jury of the prestigious International Organization for the Promotion of Asian Cinema - NETPAC.

The non-competitive program and other events of the festival promise to be very intense.
