The Jury of the National Competition of the XVI Eurasia Film Festival consisted of 5 people.
Chairman of the Jury:
Laila Pakalnina – film director and screenwriter from Latvia. To date, she has directed 32 documentaries and 11 feature films (5 of them short films), many of which participated and won prizes at major European film festivals. The film Pizza received an award in the Cinema competition program of the XX Rome International Film Festival, in addition the film The Shoe in the Cannes Film Festival, participated in the very first Eurasia Film Festival in 1998.
Members of the Jury:
- Hana Makhmalbaf – Iranian director and screenwriter, daughter and student of Mohsen Makhmalbaf. Her films Joy of Madness (documentary, 2003) and Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame (2007) are winners of prestigious international film awards.
- Sano Shinju – Japanese producer, director and screenwriter. He has produced a number of films co-produced by Kazakhstan and Japan: Last Vacation (1996), Aksuat (1997), Three Brothers (1999), Before the Storm (2011).
- Milko Lazarov – Bulgarian director, screenwriter, producer and actor, multiple participant and winner of international film festivals. His film Aga (2018) received 21 awards at film festivals around the world, including the prize for best Director at the XIV Eurasia Film Festival.
- Oleg Boretsky – Kazakh film critic, author and presenter of the program Cinema Club on the TV channel STV (Rakhat), as well as a special project Oleg Boretsky Cinema Club on the basis of the cinema Caesar (Almaty).
