A special event was held at the 17th Eurasia International Film Festival to mark the anniversary of the great Kazakh filmmaker Shaken Aimanov. The audience had the opportunity to see the cult classic “Aldar Kose. The Beardless Trickster”.
The film tells the story of a folk hero who with his wit and cunning helps the oppressed and deceives greedy wealthy people. This is a story about the fight for justice that remains relevant even decades later.
"My granddaughter, a ninth-grade student, wanted to come see this film herself, which makes me very happy. This is a masterpiece that the younger generation should know," said audience member Shuragali Alzhanov.
The film is interesting not only for its plot but also for the fact that Shaken Aimanov acted as director, screenwriter, and actor himself.
The screening became a highlight of the festival program - it is a tribute to our great director Shaken Aimanov and an opportunity for the audience to see his work in a new light.
The festival is founded and traditionally organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the Kazakhfilm Studio named after Shaken Aimanov entrusted with the direct organization of the event.
