Eighty-five years – fantastic! – is the age difference between the youngest and oldest winners of the Eurasia Film Festival.
In 2016, at the 17th Eurasia IFF, the famous Soviet and Kazakh actor Yuri Pomerantsev, who was born in the era of silent screen, won the prize for Best Male Performance at the age of 93 (!) for his role in the film Once a Week by our compatriot Igor Piskunov.
Two years later, in 2018, the audience applauded the youngest winner in the history of the festival. Eight-year-old Marta Kozlova, who played the lead role in the film Anna’s War by Russian director Alexei Fedorchenko, was awarded the prize for Best Female Performance at the 14th Eurasia IFF.
So, cinema is that magical world where it’s never too late and never too early!
