The 17th Eurasia International Film Festival hosted a business forum dedicated to the evolution of Kazakh dubbing. Industry experts highlighted how localization makes global cinema more accessible to Kazakh audiences and outlined key strategies for improving dubbing quality nationwide.
Shakh-Murat Ordabayev, a renowned dubbing expert who has contributed to numerous successful projects, shared his perspective:
“We’re moving forward, and there’s no turning back. More films are coming, and the interest is undeniable. With major players like Sony and Disney as our partners, standing still is not an option. We must keep improving, and that’s exactly what we’re striving to do. Our recent premiere is a testament to this progress.”
In recent years, localizing films for Kazakh audiences has gained increasing importance. Companies like Meloman, a leader in the localization industry, and Movie Dalen, a team committed to promoting Kazakh dubbing, have been at the forefront of enhancing quality and incorporating innovative technologies into the translation and voice-over process.
Forums like the one at "Eurasia" offer valuable opportunities for professionals and enthusiasts to share knowledge and insights. Discussions cover both technical aspects, such as translation accuracy and script adaptation, and creative considerations critical to crafting high-quality content.
Participants emphasized that developing dubbing is more than just adapting films – it represents a significant step toward producing cinema that meets global standards.
The festival is founded and traditionally organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the Kazakhfilm Studio named after Shaken Aimanov entrusted with the direct organization of the event, with the support of the Almaty City Akimat.
